Alex - You Will Always be Our All-Star

Check out this great story from the Alex Ovetjkin blog - what a fabulous story and just another example of how number 8 is not only phenomenal on the ice but off as well with his heart of gold.

As for Hockey Mom, I am in agreement with Peerless and will be boycotting this year's All-Star game, as the league's biggest All-Star is not in the starting lineup and the voting has become a total joke.

On another note - congrats to Team Canada for another gold medal victory in a very chippy game over Sweden last night in the IIHF World Juniors. Very exciting to see the next generation of NHL talent from all the teams involved!

And we all know what's up next tonight for the Caps' - a Flyers team who blew the boys out in front their thugnasty home fans in the last meeting. Hockey Mom will be flying home from the rink after the boys' game to catch all the fireworks - and I'm sure there will be plenty. C'mon Caps - time for "vengeance!" More from me later...til then, hockey fans!
