Cap's goalie Brent Johnson was named one the NHL's Three Stars of the Week for his recent stellar performances against the Carolina Hurricanes and the Eastern conference-leading New York Rangers. A huge Hockey Mom high-five to Brent, who of course will be between the pipes facing his old pal Olie Kolzig tonight.
Here are the specifics from the team's press release:
THIRD STAR -- BRENT JOHNSON, G, WASHINGTON CAPITALS
Making three consecutive starts for the first time since March
2007, Johnson posted a 2-0-1 record with a 1.63 goals-against average and .953 save percentage as the Capitals collected five of six available points. He made a season-high 42 saves in a 2-1 overtime loss at Ottawa Nov. 4, stopped 32 shots in a 3-2 victory over Carolina Nov. 6 and made 28 stops in a 3-1 victory over the New York Rangers Nov. 8.
